( boys) Wilson Central 93, DeKalb County 77 SMITHVILLE – Wilson Central broke open a tight game with a 55-35 second half run and came away with a 93-77 win at DeKalb County High Tuesday in a TSSAA Hall of Fame contest. Wilson Central marched to the free throw line 33 times, connecting on 22 (64 percent). Rounding out the WCHS scoring: Alli McCullouch 7 (two 3-pointers), Brooklyn Evert 6, Rita Planella 2 and Kylie Moss 2 with four assists. Ellie Ramsey connected on a pair of 3-pointers on the way to 14 points and Jadyn Cooper added 9 points and 6 rebounds. Brylee Fly posted a double-double for the Lady Wildcats with 26 points and 10 rebounds, finishing 10-of-13 at the free throw line. (girls) Wilson Central 66, DeKalb County 61 SMITHVILLE – Down eight headed into the fourth quarter, Wilson Central closed out with a 23-10 run to overcome DeKalb County 66-61 Tuesday in a TSSAA Hall of Fame game. Christian Brown led Franklin with 14 points, Davis Long had 13 and Gil Jones 10. Antjuan Welch knocked down two 3-pointers in the second half on the way to 10 points Tanner Bolton and Nick Owens had 3 each and Aaron Mattingly rounded out the Green Hill scoring with 2 points. Down 11-10 after one period, Green Hill took a 23-18 lead into intermission and outscored the Admirals 12-8 in the third quarter. Kenny Ellis drilled a trio of 3-pointers to lead the Hawks with 18 while Rex Harmon also had three 3-pointers and finished with 17. (boys) Green Hill 55, Franklin 47 FRANKLIN – Green Hill opened the 2023 season with a 55-47 win at Franklin High Tuesday in a TSSAA Hall of Fame game.
